House of Staunton Windsor Ivory & Black 3.75 King

For sale is House of Staunton Windsor Chess Pieces – Off‑White & Black Lacquered (3.75" King)The House of Staunton Windsor Series is a modern, luxury reinterpretation of the classic American Windsor‑style plastic chess sets that were hugely popular in the 1950s and 1960s. Those original Windsor sets—seen in photos with Bobby Fischer and many U.S. masters—were among the earliest mass‑produced plastic tournament sets in the country. House of Staunton’s version preserves the recognizable Windsor silhouette but elevates it with premium materials, hand‑carved details, and a high‑gloss lacquered finish. The “ivory” pieces are intentionally off‑white, not bright white. This softer tone is easier on the eyes, more elegant under lighting, and closer in spirit to the warm look of vintage Windsor plastics rather than the stark white of modern synthetics. Paired with the deep piano‑black lacquer of the opposing army, the set achieves a bold yet comfortable visual contrast. With a 3.75‑inch king, the set fits standard tournament dimensions while offering the refined presence expected of a premium display set.
